Acer Unveils New Breed of Windows Hybrids, Cheap Android Tablet

Acer today unveiled the Aspire R7 laptop, a Windows PC with a unique hybrid design: The screen is attached to the keyboard on a special neck hinge that lets the user bring the display closer for touch. The company also introduced a smaller Ultrabook hybrid and a standalone Android tablet. The hinge of the R7 is called the Ezel, and besides letting users bring the 15.6-inch screen in close, it can also flip over in a "presentation" mode to show the display to someone sitting across from you. Acer Debuts Its iCloud Clone, AcerCloud

Acer Unveils Aspire S5, ‘World’s Thinnest’ Ultrabook

LAS VEGAS — Ultrabooks , compact and powerful Windows laptops, were promised to be big at CES 2012 , and the show just saw Acer draw first blood in the category. Today the PC maker unveiled the Aspire S5, which Acer claims is the world’s thinnest Ultrabook.
